Sophia Soul

From Dependency To Self-Determination

Few people have had the kind of life that Sophia has had and ended up running a worldwide organisation dedicated to the Empowerment of self & others

Having been born with a Genetic Disorder and undergoing about 30 operations due to a genetic disorder, Sophia has faced many challenges in all aspects of her life. From chronic pain, extreme bullying, sexual and emotional abuse and mental health issues that led to suicide attempts. She can honestly say “I have lived through many challenges and have been able to completely transform my life with constant practice and awareness.”

Because of her upbringing, Sophia has always seen things differently to most people in this world.  In wanting to experience a life where she could live in Contentment, Sophia has been on a spiritual journey for as long as she can remember, including practicing meditation for over 30 years, 18 of which were spent living in Meditation and Retreat Centres.

It was during this 30year period, Sophia really discovered what true Self Esteem is: “The state of consciousness where you value your inner self, regardless of whether you are being approved of or respected by others’.

For Sophia, Sound Healing and Breathwork became her way to heal her body, on both the physical and emotional levels, so much that she now lives a life free of pain and drugs.

The power of Positive Thought and Self-Esteem has also completely changed her as a person. Sophia now lives a life that is full of possibilities, she wakes every day and give thanks for being alive. Sophia believes that the power of the mind contains the answers to everything we ever desire.

All of this work of Self-Development over the years has brought Sophia to where she is now, creating a global movement of Love, Growth & Connection through her organisation ‘Our Sacred Community’ which is now a Worldwide Community dedicated to helping, supporting, and encouraging women to both empower themselves and each other, so as each can fulfil their dreams, desires & purpose.

Our Sacred Community achieves this by providing a global platform that brings together like-minded people to create connections and share their passions, their purpose, their services, their events and a space where you will discover that you can be accepted just as you are.

Their mission is to ‘Touch Lives Everywhere’.

As Anita Moorjani reminds us: ‘Remember Your Magnificence’

From Childhood to Adult Hood

The great Philosopher Aristotle left us with this famous quote:

Give me a child until he is seven and I will show you the man!

My name is Kim, and my early life was a true representation of that statement. Born to alcoholic parents, the first seven years of my life were incredibly challenging and difficult.

Growing up with alcoholic parents meant that there was a lack of stability and consistency in my life. Basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter were often not met. The highs and lows of living with alcoholic parents were extreme, with moments of happiness and love followed by verbal and physical abuse.

The memories of my childhood are filled with bittersweet moments that still tug at my heartstrings. My father’s addiction to alcohol consumed him, leaving him unable to hold down a job and provide for our family. As a result, my mother had to take on the burden of being the sole breadwinner, resorting to degrading jobs like stripping, call girl work, and even streetwalking to make ends meet.

By the time I was six years old, my mother’s family stepped in to rescue me and my brothers, and we moved in with our grandparents.

Soon after we were taken away, my parents separated. My father disappeared from my life for the next forty years, and my mother continued to visit me every few months with a different man on her arm. Tragically, she died in a house fire when I was just 14 years old. It was later revealed that the house belonged to one of her clients, and they were drunk at the time of the fire.

Despite the hardships I faced, this experience had a profound effect on my life and the direction it took. I decided that my role in life would be to help protect and empower those who cannot protect themselves.
I went to university and gained a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling and Relationship Counselling, and for many years, I helped couples, especially those with abuse problems.

I even created a business that would help “ladies of the night” to move away from the dangers of streetwalking and into a safer environment, where they were encouraged to develop their personal empowerment and life skills. I wanted to make a positive difference in their lives by helping them break free from the dangers of their situation.

It was during this time that I met Sophia, and together, we discussed the possibility of creating a worldwide community focused on bringing people together to develop personal empowerment and achieve their dreams.

And that’s how Sacred U was born – a community dedicated to helping individuals from all over the world connect, grow, become empowered and achieve their goals.
